‘Coming Out The Grove’ was an exhibition created by a group of graduates from London College of Fashion’s BA Fashion Photography course. The work on view combines excerpts from student’s final major projects with more personal photographic and moving image works. Collectively the works on show demonstrate a growing tension between the demands of an image-driven fashion industry and these graduate’s increasingly sophisticated photographic language, which departs from fashion discourse to investigate broader issues of contemporary culture and the politics of the body in space. Moving across media, from darkroom prints to moving image and publications, the work on view demonstrates a commitment to analogue techniques and embodied experience alongside the increasingly networked and dematerialised experience of fashion culture.” - Lillian Wilkie
